There is a LOT of stuff out there about the foot, ankle, knee and hip to glute connection. The bottom line is that the chain is a potential/kinetic elastic release system. Drills are important they connect the body, rather than fragment. I am not saying ‘calf strength’ exercises have no value BUT connecting the lower leg to upper leg is more value and this drill replicates and mirrors running.
