Having read the book I think that there are undoubtedly some training habits that the Kenyans have, for example so many people devote their whole life to running in Kenya, there is a huge amount that is about motivation and learnt cultural attitudes. Many of the Kenyan people have their lives and those of their communities changed absolutely for ever by just winning one race. There’s an interesting discussion to be had here.
